Enjoyment

Meet the Team

Discover Your Doorstep has three voluntary Directors, each with a passion for wellbeing. The leader you will meet is Katie, an ex-GP who now spends her time outdoors or in the water, supporting more people to gain in confidence and health.

Katie’s qualifications:

  • BSc (first class), MBChB, MRCGPs, Diploma in Geriatric Medicine.
  • Academic research and a Master of Public Health.
  • Medical student teacher at Cardiff and Exeter Universities.

Her outdoor qualifications:

  • Mountain Training Association Hill and Moorland Leader.
  • Outdoor First Aid.
  • Level 2 swimming teacher and open water coach.
  • A keen and growing interest (and training) in foraging.

“I think its really good because I get to see places that are very local that I didn’t know, and even when the sessions stop I’m able to come back and revisit them. Its nice starting in 1:1s, not in a big group, and just going for gentle walks and going out. If I didn’t meet up with you I’d be at home now, but instead I’m here in the forest feeling better, and then going on to have a better day. So I think they are really nice sessions. It’s nothing too overwhelming or too much.”
